VACANCY: CEO – Racing Association

A few years ago a couple of the CN&CO team became proud shareholders in a racehorse syndicate called Onamission. Carel, Colin (and his other half, Gregory), Kurt and Rob all own various percentages in a couple of racehorses as part of a strategy by the Mike de Kock Racing stable to expand the ownership base in horse racing in SA. Carel even has his own racing colours…

First EasyEquities democratised share ownership in South Africa with its fractional share rights. And then Mathew de Kock from the famous Mike de Kock Racing business has taken the concept and applied it to racehorse ownership!

Alongside Charles Savage, CEO of EasyEquities and horse racing fanatic, we have stayed (eagerly) involved in the horse racing world – we have enjoyed a few visits to the Sun Met in Cape Town, Durban July, Turffontein in Johannesburg and even the Vaal in Vereeniging.

We recently became away of the vacancy at the Racing Association and thought we would share it with our network.

The primary role of the RA CEO is to enable the purpose, mission and strategy of the Racing Association, being “to protect and advance the interests of all owners, while ensuring an excellent racehorse ownership experience and playing a leading role in the inevitable restructure, transformation and recapitalisation of the horse racing industry”
