The first things that go through my mind when I hear the phrase stock market are confusing graphs, numbers, tickers and people shouting in a crowded room.
Luckily the okes at EasyEquities banish this stereotype and have made investing so damn #Easy!
Seriously, you pick a stock you want to buy, decide how much you want to spend (from as little as R5), click “buy” and VOILA, you are now a shareholder in that company! (no seriously, it’s that easy).
BUT wait, “Which stocks should I buy?” you may be asking. “I have no background or knowledge about the stock market and this shares thing”.
Stress not, dear pal!
What if you just buy the stocks that you know and love? Invest in companies you already support and spend your money with? Are you a down-down king who enjoys a Castle Lite, Black Label or Peroni? Then buy some SAB shares. Are you a frequent shopper at Woolies? Then buy Woolies shares … you’re contributing to their bottom line anyway. You may as well benefit from it.
Just remember not to put all your eggs in one basket. Maintain a diverse portfolio of stocks in companies you’re familiar with. You really can’t go all that wrong in the long run.
Have a look at this super-interesting article on the EasyEquities blog, I get investing, but what should I buy?, which should give you a better idea.
