Where were you at noon on Friday? – 8 June 2018

The CN&CO team could be described as the scatterlings of Africa right now, since we really are all over the place – geographically speaking, that is. It’s part of our lifestyle business approach: being able to work wherever we are and finding a balance that helps us to succeed in all areas of life. Here’s where we were at noon on Friday, 8 June 2018. (Where were you?)

With the winter chills kicking in at a rapid pace, despite the weather, the CN&CO team is out and about making magic with our epic partners, getting things done. This Friday has certainly been a perfect example of a #Friyay for the whole team!

Lorraine
and Neo were looking after HQ. Lorraine was working on the FIA WDII blog, while Neo was holding the ‘Ford’ in the writing room. Their location code: deadline.command.annoys

Josie was at the St. Augustine Hospital in Durban looking after her little Gracie and reminding us how important her job as a mother is first and foremost.

Colin had just finished up at Evalex and was going to do some work on the FIA Insights Magazine and Fulcrum‘s offices for a few hours before heading to Cape Town for social media training with Josh for the Twothreebird team who run Sunday’s Insurance.

Gianluca was at home, having a snooze thanks to his pain killers while he recovers from surgery.

Chief Seniõr, Carel made the suggestion that instead of the usual sending location, we use what3words to represent where we’re working from and its safe to say the answers were by no means anything we had ever seen before.

For those of you that don’t know what #what3words is, it is a really simple way to talk about location. The world has been divided into a grid of 3m x 3m squares with each square having been assigned a unique 3 word address. It means anyone can accurately find any location and share it more quickly, easily and with less ambiguity than any other system.

Here’s what some of the team got up to, as explained by 3 very bizarre and super unique words:

Emi took her Nonna (gran) to visit her mom in her now salon at the Nail and Body Lab in Blubird where she knocked out some Plantrionics social media posts and was wrapping up a few blogs and ideas for an upcoming event. Her location code: trees.happily.sensual

Allan was at the Rosebank Catholic Church celebrating the life of a hockey mate. His location code: nasal.poetic.glorious

Blake was at Shoprite Checkers in Cape Town planning the first continent clean-up. His location code: walking.vocab.skin

Rob was at INCE crushing some marketing data. His location code: observer.trout.pitching.

Rikus was at St Stithian’s  prep listening to the little ones make music in the music room. His location code: device.grain.singers (probably the closest to what he was doing)

Penny was just being Penny, as fabulous as she always is!

While the rest of us fight the cold, Kurt, Thabs and Thabs are at Club Med Plantation d’Albion in Mauritius.

Chief Seniõr was sitting poolside reading a book entitled “how to be bored” which we all know is “a very appropriate title for a very slow paced man,” as Kurt called it 😉

Kurt had just smashed out some emails and work, had a catch up with Carel who for once was having a minute of downtime and then was heading off to a delicious lunch all Club Med’s signature chefs.

Thabs was working poolside, enjoying the view.

To think that this was only what the team was up to at noon. Talk about being productive!

That’s a wrap from us! We hope you all have a lekker weekend!
