CN&CO team caricature 2019

Where were you at noon on Thursday 9 May 2019?

The CN&CO team are sometimes described as the “Scatterlings of Africa”, since they really are all over the place – geographically speaking, that is. It’s part of our lifestyle business approach: being able to work wherever we are and finding a balance that helps us to succeed in all areas of life. Here’s where we were at noon on Thursday, 9 May 2019, many of us with our thumbs reflecting our civic duty from the day before – where were you and how is your thumb looking? Let us know, tag @cnandco and use #thumbed to win gifts from our partners Makeup Revolution, Blair Atholl and EasyEquities.

Neo says that “Home is definitely where the WIFI connects automatically! I am working from CN&CO HQ today. With Mothers’ Day upon us, messages have been pouring in from the Bokamoso Education Trust children to let us know why their mothers are “super moms”. Look out for these on Bokamoso’s social media.

Joshua was at home working on CIB, Econorisk, Imagined Earth and some data stuff.

Joshua was based at his home (who knew that he lives on an educational campus?) for today and was immersed in a writing bubble—mainly working on industry press articles for CIB and Econorisk. Joshua says, “Over the last few months I have learnt a lot about planning and allocating time/space for specific types of tasks. Today I needed some space to myself to keep the thoughts clear and construct flowing sentences.” You can read more about what Joshua thinks on “perspective” here.

Carel was in Cape Town – post meeting with some of our CN&CO clients and doing work for EasyEquities (and watching what he describes as the phenomenal Kunene and the King at the Fugard theatre). At noon he was with founder of Five2Nine, the legends who do all our design work, Michael Kaufmann – and during the meeting admired Mike’s beautiful newborn, baby number two. Congrats Michael and Michelle!

Blake was in Durban, hoping to grab a cup of coffee with Natalie from King Price, before heading to a meeting with FMI. And then doing a talk at the Singularity event about the power of volunteering. Check out Brownie Points, another CN&CO partner, here.

Our CFO Engineer and MD of Dragon Risk, Rob, was meeting with our mate Devan Kerr from Kerr Valves to chat about the future of construction, fire and risk. We are excited about how this part of CN&CO has grown.

Lethabo-Thabo and Gianluca were at the Club Med offices in the Design Quarter, strategising hard and preparing for meetings with Club Med’s Customer Growth Marketing Manager Lee-Ann Morgan. With free flights to the Alps our favourite travel partner has some lekker deals to help our travel funds go further.

Rikus, Llewellyn, Francois and Jarryd were all in some way or other working on the AIE, AIO and FIA events coming up – book your spot here. Rikus was driving to his next event briefing to, as he says, “make magic for our fabulous clients”.

Colin was working at his home office, crafting his wordsmith PR magic for the upcoming AIO and AIE conferences.

Josie and her husband were spending time at Babylonstoren

Josie and her husband unexpectedly managed a two night sneak-away before baby number three arrives (we can’t wait to meet him!) and were spending time at Babylonstoren. Josie has been a machine during her pregnancy and has Neo and many others ready to ensure her clients continue to get the very best service whilst she takes some maternity leave. Judging by how well she handled the previous two times, partners may not even notice she is off for a while!

Kurt had just left his Consort and Lombard Partnerships meeting

Kurt had just left his Consort and Lombard Partnerships meeting and says there are lots of exciting things on the go – including a new broker matrix tool that Lombard Partnerships uses to add even more value to UMAs and brokers. Talking of exciting – Kurt has some lekker aces up his sleeve for day one at AIE in Sun City #justsaying

As for Allan – he was sorting out our fibre (yep, Allan is our resident office manager) and also getting some social media work done for the SA Women’s Hockey team. For those who don’t know, Allan is a qualified hockey coach and passionate about the sport. And women.

Emi has had to have a load of stitches re-done post-surgery so was taking it easy at Forest rd while writing her CN&CO report for May and planning the next round of digital marketing for Makeup Revolution and our model client Gemma Donnelly.

All in all, noon was just another lekker, diverse, value-adding moment in the life of CN&CO. Carpe Diem. Make the most of time.
