We feel like this is the opportune time to bring out the streamers and confetti cannons to welcome YouBar, the latest client, to the CN&CO family!
Nestled in the heart of Illovo is a tranquil, chic and luxurious nail and skincare bar – YouBar – which opened its doors in 2015. Co-founded by Barbara Young and Taryn Fernandes (who are too fabulous for words), two incredibly ambitious and passionate entrepreneurs, YouBar was born of the idea to create a special space where people could come and enjoy a pamper session and a time out, ultimately escaping the stresses of everyday life.
On the surface, while YouBar might seem like “any other beauty bar” (in that it covers a wide range of treatments including: facials, skin resurfacing, eyelash extensions, massage, manicures, pedicures, and a variety of nail services) there’s a lot more to this hidden gem than meets the eye.
Indulging in a glass of wine during evening treatments with your bestie, or enjoying a cup of one of many exclusive teas during a spoil session you’ve treated yourself to, YouBar is all about you.
The beauty space is nothing new to Barbara and Taryn, with both having successfully run their own beauty salons for over five years before they decided to team up and start YouBar. Both women have a passion for people, and all things beauty, nails and skincare related – which is evident the moment you step into YouBar. Each and every brand and product stocked in the salon has been carefully selected for very specific reasons. Some products you can expect to find are: !QMS Medicosmetics, Africology, CND SHELLAC, CND VINYLUX, OPI, and Gelish.
YouBar is one of a handful of select !QMS skincare centres in Johannesburg, which offers a skincare experience designed to deliver superior results for the appearance and wellbeing of the skin. With !QMS, focus is on placing collagen (which is vital in maintaining a youthful appearance) back into the skin. YouBar’s !QMS facial treatments include deep pore cleansing, exfoliation, algae masking, collagen serums, an additional skin specific mask, as well as a neck and décolleté massage finished off with a moisturising and eye care regime. The team at YouBar guarantee glowing skin after just one treatment.
