Two DJs on ConFab at CN&CO

justinCN&CO’s ConFab session held on 10 October proved yet again that there’s no limit to the power of relationships. ConFab sessions presents a time to let our hair down (well some of us at least) and engage in insightful conversations with dynamic and driven individuals – friends, colleagues, clients or people we meet by chance at an event.

The aim is to stimulate thinking, spark conversations and put people in touch with each other who otherwise may not have met,” says CN&CO’s Carel Nolte.

This time we had Justin Pearse and Justin Miller as guest speakers. These gentlemen not only have the same first name, but also share a passion for music. They both have jobs they love, but that does not stop them from pursuing what they enjoy most – which is to DJ. When Pearse is not behinds the decks he is heading the client engagement department at our client Purple Group. Miller is Carel’s personal trainer.

The Justins shared their musical journeys and experiences as DJs. Guests also had a platform to learn what it takes to keep a crowd moving on the dancefloor. Beyond that, we had a lot of insight on how building relationships can assist us over time – be it in business or in our personal lives.

“Your professional network should include all kinds of people from a cross-section of companies – big and
small, public and private, and from diverse industries,” says Carel. This will help you to build long-term relationships that will hopefully create value in the short and long term.”
It goes to show that if you’re open to possibilities, wonderful things can happen. It’s about being authentic and polite. As well as being reciprocal.

Like Yvonne Chaka Chaka said: “Thank you, Mr DJ for playing my song.”
