#TravelTuesday: November 2018 travel inspiration

Happy #TravelTuesday! If you didn’t know that it is a thing, now you know. #TravelTuesday is a fun international hashtag to celebrate all things travel. People share travel tips and photos of their travels. In that same spirit, we are sharing some travel inspiration with you courtesy of our partner Club Med.

I like the quote above by Annette White which encourages us to do the things we have been dreaming of doing. This message is echoed by Rob in his I wish blog this week where he encourages us to do things now because it is the right time.

Travel inspiration: The Maldives

The Maldives was a hot topic in celebrity media this month as celeb couple and business people Melinda Bam and Adriaan Bergh visited Club Med’s Finolhu Villas. Of course, the Maldives are great for lazing on the beach marvelling at the beauty of the sea but there are lots of adventurous activities as well. Think scuba diving in crystal clear waters, exploring cultural and historical sites like the Friday Mosque of Malé, and spiritual enrichment like practicing yoga and learning about the ancient health system of Ayurveda.

With Club Med you can stay at Club Med Kani where accommodation is in suites or overwater villas, or you can stay at the 5-trident (5-star) Finolhu Villas like Melinda and Adriaan did.

If you need some photographic inspiration, Melinda and Adriaan have provided plenty on their social media accounts. This Club Med blog highlights a few of these epic images. They had such a great time that Melinda is still sharing her photos and remembering her time away.

Travel tips: ski holidays

In South Africa we don’t normally see snow so a Club Med snow holiday is a great way to experience something new and learn to ski. Snow holidays come in many forms; you can travel as a family, as a couple, as a group of friends, or solo. Either way, you’ll probably need a few handy tips if you’re going on your first snow holiday. Also, if you can’t ski or snowboard the experts at Club Med will teach you – your lessons are included in your package.

This blog is great as it helps you pack for that snow holiday. It gives you a good idea of just how warmly wrapped up you need to be but with the space to move around so you can actually ski.

Dressing appropriately is not all you need to know. Once you get there you want to know that you’re carving the powder on a green slope and not a black slope. Unless you know your way around the slopes… Basically, you need to learn all the ski lingo so you can speak ski like a pro.

When it comes to a family snow holiday, Club Med has you covered there, too. Each Club Med village (i.e. resort) has various children’s and teens’ clubs to help the younger family members have a great holiday, too. A resort like Club Med Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon is ideal for families because of its children’s clubs and child-friendly facilities.

Venture further afield to Cancún

Cancún is Mexico’s most popular resort area, located on the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo. Thanks to the area’s great weather, beautiful beaches, clear waters, and nearby coral reef the Mexican government chose the area for development in the 1970s. It’s now the biggest resort area in the country, with a population of around 600 000, and receiving over 3 million visitors annually.

Cancún has become synonymous with partying and the high life, but this part of Mexico is also home to some ancient ruins, beautiful beaches, and relaxing luxury resorts. If you’ve been toying with the idea of holidaying in Cancún but aren’t sure where to start, this Club Med blog should help. Club Med Cancún Yucatán is the ultimate all-inclusive family resort located at the tip of Mexico’s iconic Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo. Alongside three white sand beaches and the world’s second largest coral reef, between the Caribbean Sea and the lagoon, Club Med Cancún Yucatán, offers an extensive array of water and land sports and easy access to ancient Mayan wonders.

Club Med is the leader in all-inclusive travel and for South Africans dealing with fluctuations in our currency, this is a big win. To be clear: all-inclusive means food AND drinks (yes, alcoholic drinks as well). That means that once you’ve paid for your holiday package, you can rest-assured that your credit card will not be put to work. Unless, of course, you choose to do some shopping or try some of the out-of-the-resort excursions. So, what are you waiting for? Book your bucket list holiday today.
