The future of living has arrived

With The Rockefeller in Cape Town being the lastest sexy offering from our partners at EasyProperties, we asked one of the newest owners to share their view on why they are so inspired by this property. Here is what they have to say – it makes for inspiring reading …

What does the future of living look like to you? I imagine living somewhere safe and secure where all my need are catered for at all times.

I wake up in the morning and get the daily newspaper delivered and squiz through the headlines while I drink my gourmet coffee. I take a look at my diary and to-do-list for the day and plan accordingly.

My meetings are all in designer boardrooms that have considered all my possible needs from video conferencing facilities, killer views and all food and beverage options available within a few short steps from my breakfast which has been curated by the top food and beverage operator in the country.

Between meetings I go work at my desk, one floor down from the boardrooms in a super-cool co-working space operated by Ideas Cartel where I get all my work done with no distractions.

It’s lunch time. I’m not that hungry because I ate a breakfast fit for a queen so I walk down another floor to the local deli where I can get delicious baked goods, fresh pressed juices and convenience eating like sushi on-the-go or ready-made sandwiches.

My 1pm meeting is cancelled last minute so I use the gap in my diary to head upstairs to the gym to get a treadmill session in because I’m busy training for a 21km run – every run counts!

When I finish my day I arrange a quick swim followed by a couple of drinks with some friends at the rooftop bar and pool area designed and fitted out by an internationally renowned and award-winning designer.

I order my favourite cocktail, a mojito because its January and I need something to cool me down while id take in the views of the city and Table Mountain.

After drinks, I order a salad from my favourite restaurant and eat at home because it’s been a long day. I get a call on my phone from my concierge to remind me that my Superbalist order arrived this afternoon and would I like it sent to my room now. I do.

All of this happens inside one state-of-art building. I don’t have to think about anything as everything is at my fingertips all the time.

The Rockefeller Hotel and Residences in Cape Town is the brand new, recently completed building of the future. The building has won an International Property Award for best new Residential High-Rise in Africa because of the design and innovation that brought this project to life.

The restaurant is operated by the owners of The Grand Pavillion which is the hottest new restaurant in Cape Town.  There is a 24 hour concierge service and the building is managed by Newmark Hotels so all of the services and  amenities of a high end hotel are available to me all the time.

The building is situated across from the R15 billion Harbour Arch precinct, a short walk from the CTICC, the Christiaan Barnard hospital and minutes from the N1 and N2 highways which makes for a very desirable location. The Node is set to grow massively in demand as new projects come to fruition so capital appreciation is expected to be strong in the long run.

See you for a mojito!
