The Anthem Project

Our South African national anthem, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika, was named the best national anthem in the world by The Economist at the end of 2018.

The Economist had an in-house poll deciding which country had the best National Anthem of them all. They considered the backstories and listened to them to make the final decision.

In celebration of The Economist naming our anthem as the best in the world we have followed the Anthem Project. The project was created by News24.com in partnership with OUTsurance. It’s an initiative to “unite the nation through song”.

There have been multiple entries and we are proud to see that two of our partners, Ndlovu Youth Choir and RMB (through their Starlight Classics event), have submitted their unique versions of the National Anthem.

Listen to their submissions below and learn more about the Anthem Project here.
