TEDTalk Tuesday bonus (Wednesday) episode: Cay-Low Mbedzi shares details on the next #6MonthsRiskChallenge

TED continues to spread ideas and help us all be better critical thinkers. Watching, listening and talking about TED Talks is a popular pastime for many in the CN&CO community. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh, learn or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations and business opportunities. It’s also a way that the CN&CO team play their part in spreading ideas and helping to make the world a better place. This talk was delivered by EasyEquities’ Cay-Low Mbedzi, who sent us this article:

The world of investing is the place where many find opportunities to build wealth, and with that comes risks. These risks can be an opportunity to learn, experience, and grow!

In a two-minute TEDTalk, hosted by eHub and the University of South Africa, EasyEquities’ Cay-Low Mbedzi shares how he embarked on a risk challenge, highlighting key characteristics of any risk in life, through the #6MonthsRiskChallenge.

“The challenge calls on new and existing investors to invest in companies selling their shares below R5 and $5,” said Cay-Low. “Where there are risks, rewards can be reaped; where there are cents, rands can be made.”

For this round of the challenge, he said, “With this year only having six months left, for this round of the #6MonthsRiskChallenge I’ll be keeping my eyes on explorers. These are miners with small operations and the potential to become the next big thing!”

For context, here’s an article on the current macroeconomic situation that may help give a better understanding.

“Anyone can start investing at any time,” said Cay-Low. “What’s important is being consistent in the journey once you get started.”

Cay-Low Mbedzi is a financial literacy enthusiast and retail investor. He is also the founder of the #6MonthsRiskChallenge. The challenge is open to everyone with an EasyEquities account. You can register here if you are still new, or as a registered user, you can share your referral link with your friends and family to challenge them for the next six months!

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx.
