TED Talk Tuesday #77 – The mathematics of weight loss

Watching TED Talks is a popular pastime at CN&CO. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations. Each week we pick a favourite and publish it on a Tuesday, because we like how “TED Talk Tuesday” sounds. This week’s talk was posted by Kurt Solomon. Here’s why he chose it:

Our CN&CO team trip to @ClubMed #Bintan is around the corner, beach, sun and cocktails baby!

Hence why I have been doing my push ups religiously, a daily challenge (start on 30 push ups and increase by 5 every week until Bintan) I agreed to do with colleague and mate Joshua Nuttall.

Sure I have left it to the last minute to get my beach body but that’s not the point! It’s funny how life works sometimes, or maybe chilling at how the web knows pretty much everything about us.

I was searching some vitamins and protein (boet) online, a day or two later when I went to browse through some TED talk videos, the first one that popped up was – The Mathematics of weight loss by Prof Ruben Meerman, coincidence, maybe?!

I was intrigued of course but what I loved about this TED talk, which is so different to all that other weight loss bullsh1t out there, it all made sense and something I agree with – Burn more calories than you consume and you will lose weight.

You have to check out his scientific explanation, it includes chemistry, balloons and some dry ice – VERY interesting!
