TED Talk Tuesday #51: Ideas worth dating

Watching TED Talks is a popular pastime at CN&CO. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations. Each week we pick a favourite and publish it on a Tuesday, because we like how “TED Talk Tuesday” sounds. This week’s talk was selected by Kurt Solomon. Here’s why he chose it:

Did you know that “Bonobo apes have frequent and promiscuous sex to manage conflict”?

For those of you who know what TED is all about, you will know that the “slogan” is “Ideas worth Spreading” . . . not dating. For those of you that have never watched a TED talk or think TED is about a teddy that smokes weed and talks, you are wrong, save yourself the embarrassment and give this video a watch.

It’s a short 5 minute video which will give you a good idea of the types of talks you can find at TED.com.

I chose it, because a simple talk you watch on TED.com can literally open up your mind in a million different ways and will get you thinking outside, on top and inside of the box!

I bet you do not know what a lexicographer does, or how about guerrilla gardening in LA, USA? Would you be intrigued if i told you there is a game that could give you an extra 10 years of life?

Give this quick video a watch, it will give you an idea about the different people, styles and topics that you can find at TED.com. It will intrigue you, and I can almost guarantee that you will learn something new that will allow you to grow both personally and professionally.

Kurt, our favourite Leb, has a zest for life and a heart of gold. He’s also a really good marketer, willing to do almost anything for his clients, even if it involves wearing a tutu!
