TED Talk Tuesday #160 Martin Ford; How we’ll earn money in the future without jobs

A few weeks ago unemployment only affected the poor and uneducated. We all heard the stats. It concerned us but it didn’t affect us enough to make drastic changes.

Today, millions of people around the world are losing their so-called secure jobs with few options of new employment as economies crash with national lockdowns. We will only really know the devastating impact of the coronavirus in the next few weeks.

But for many South African’s (29%) unemployment has been a reality for years and this number is bound to increase year on year as artificial intelligence and technology replace jobs.

Business requires customers and customers require an income. South African unemployment is going to increase with the coronavirus outbreak and businesses will suffer.
