TED Talk Tuesday #144 – Why some of us don’t have one true calling.

Watching TED Talks is a popular pastime at CN&CO. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations. Each week we pick a favourite and publish it on a Tuesday, because we like how “TED Talk Tuesday” sounds. This week’s talk was posted by Rikus Kok. Here’s why…

Almost all my team mates that work at CN&CO studied something completely different to what they ended up doing – and it still changes on a daily bases. Of course, I studied Music Theatre and whilst I still love music and theatre, I am not a performer – but rather an events guru and assistant to Carel!

When you grow up you often get asked the question, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” I think it is completely fine to have no idea what you want to do when you grow up – in fact probably even better as you can end up doing multiple jobs that you might be good at.

Emilue Wapnick in this talk calls people like us – Multipotentialites. This basically means that you are someone that has multi-potentials of what you can do or achieve 🙂 I like that and wish more of us would be comfortable with change in our lives.

Enjoy this TED Talk Tuesday…and find another aspect of your personality to explore!

Rikki xoxo
