TED Talk Tuesday #129: A call for all citizens, businesses and governments to take the lessons learnt to avoid #DayZero.

Watching TED Talks is a popular pastime at CN&CO. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations. Each week we pick a favourite and publish it on a Tuesday, because we like how “TED Talk Tuesday” sounds. This week’s talk is posted by Blake Dyason. You have to run out of water to understand its value. Lara Mazahreh’s knows this first hand and share some important lessons.

I recently started working with the team from W12 Congress, an International Water Conference being hosted in Cape Town in January 2020.
In my first meeting with Shelley Humphreys and her team from W12 Congress, they shared some scary stats about the global water crisis with 16 countries facing a #DayZero scenario similar to Cape Town in the next two to tree years, I realised that we need to be putting water at the top of our agendas as citizens, business and governments.

This is what led me to listening to Lara Mazahreh’s TedTalk about the global water crisis, there are existing solutions. You have to watch her talk.

And follow W12 Congress to see what we all can do personally and in our businesses to prevent a water crisis.

Blake brings a lot of energy, passion and heart into everything he does. He is extremely passionate about our country, it’s people and the environment. He is based in Cape Town and is happiest when he is running around exploring the beauty of the mountains.
