Team moves at CN&CO

There are some exciting developments in the pipeline for CN&CO. The first of these is the addition of a new team mate, Allan Bader (pictured right), who will be joining us on 28 March 2017. Secondly, we will be welcoming Josie Dougall back to Johannesburg after a four-year stint in Durban.

Allan’s background is in insurance, where he has spent 13-odd years* in the short-term commercial area, along with dabbling in the personal lines space for the past three years.

“Allan has worked as both a broker and an insurer, and we look forward to his amazing insights from both sides of the intermediated insurance market,” says CN&CO chief señor, Carel Nolte. “As such, Allan will be working with a number of our insurance clients, such as the Financial Intermediaries’ Association (FIA), ITOO, Lombard and Financial Services Board (FSB).”

Apart from being a devoted insurance acolyte, Allan is also an avid hockey player and coach. In addition, he has completed two Comrades Marathons with Carel – although we can’t be sure how they endured each other for just shy of 12 hours on the road, both times!

Allan’s most endearing quality is his love of people, which we know is what will make him a perfect fit at CN&CO.

And then in June we’ll be welcoming Josie back to Jozi! After leaving in 2013, single and in love, Josie is now coming with a husband and toddler in tow!

Josie has been running a portfolio of insurance and logistics clients out of our CN&CO Durban office for the past two years.

“Although the lifestyle business model that we adopt at CN&CO has lent itself very well to this and has allowed me the freedom to work remotely and service Joburg-based clients from afar, the opportunity has come up for us to return to the big smoke,” she says.

Josie’s husband, Simon, will be looking to expand his Durban-based, family-owned insurance brokerage in Gauteng.

“Simon works alongside his legendary insurance broker father Andy Dougall in the family business,” explains Josie. “It’s a business that Andy started 35 years ago with one client and a lot of ambition! Crawford Dougall is now one of the leading independent insurance brokerages in South Africa and boasts some flagship commercial and corporate clients.”

“One of the things we’re looking forward to once we get back will be enrolling our daughter, Grace, in Blue Bird pre-school, which is very close to our hearts as it’s where my mum taught for many years.”

Says CN&CO MD Gianluca Tucci: “With Josie’s move, Allan joining us, our interns Neo and Emi becoming fully-fledged team members and our fresh batch of black, female interns coming soon, we have a superb opportunity to refocus the best skillsets where they are needed. At CN&CO we don’t like to settle into complacency and are loving how our people dynamics keep us energised. It’s nearly as exciting as watching Juventus win!”
