ROWSA Indoor Development Rowing Program and RMB bring 58 participants, coaches and teachers to compete at the annual St Andrews Ergo Regatta.

The St Andrew’s School for Girls hosted their annual Spring Expo on Saturday, 14th September 2019. Along with several stalls, food court and fun park for kids, the highlight of the day for the Rowing community, students, coaches and supporters alike was certainly the St Andrew’s Ergo Regatta.
Representing at the Ergo Regatta was Virginia Mabaso, with a team of 58 participants, coaches and teachers who travelled from all over the country to take part and represent RowSA’s Development and Transformation plan – the “Learn to Row Rural Programme” that aims to transform indoor rowing into a competitive, mass participation sport that simultaneously identifies talent and transcends rowing across all ages, genders, disabilities and geographical locations.

It was nothing less other than pure fun and very competitive boys and girls and for the first time Para Race. The results speak for themselves, medal spread throughout almost to all the areas represented by the team of 58. With a special mention to Sibulele Mchiza JM U16 winning gold at 6:55.09. If “STRONG WAS A PERSON”; this boy is on another level. Great potential indeed.
