The ‘Rowing in Action’ competition gold medalist is…….

After  a two month long race, our ‘Rowing in Action’ social media competition winner has been chosen! Having received some extraordinary images, choosing a gold medalist proved to be a highly difficult task.

We approached Pierre de Villers, a water photographer that is passionate about capturing the angles of waves, water and light to select the winner from all the images entered over the two competition period. Pierre went on to say, “choosing a winner wasn’t easy, there were many great images so congrats to all involved.”

After narrowing the race down to the top three images, the winner was selected.

“Putting in the hours, gold is never won the easy way” @cnandcompany @easyequities @deadrechcrew #thinkingpullingtogether

Our grand prize gold medalist winner goes to…..Rosanne Palmer

Pierre described the image as, “Love the dark and light textures in this black and white image. That exact moment of the oar striking the still water is beautiful.”

This image is a perfectly captured moment of pure strength, power and perseverance. A moment captured beautifully.

Choosing a winner has been no easy task as the standard of entries has been extremely high.

We would like yo acknowledge the Silver and Bronze medal winners as well. The race was incredibly close and the entrants didn’t make the selection process very easy.

Pierre said, “Love the technigue used to give this image an awesome feeling of traveling at speed. You can almost feel the hull chattering along the surface of the water.”

And finally, the Bronze Medalist winner went to our February month end winner, Jake Milton Green

Chilly early morning session in Varese last year, this was the first time our crew got to race overseas. We had no idea if we would be at the olympics at that stage because we still had to qualify, so that weekend we learned a lot of what we needed to do

“I am a sucker for a sunrise,” said Pierre, “this image gives a great feeling of anticipation and excitement in the air.”

On behalf of our sponsors RMB, Dead Reckoning and Easy Equities, as well as us at CN&CO, we would like to thank all those that entered our competition for their contribution to rowing awareness.
