Riversands Incubation Hub to host FundEX 2017

CN&CO loves and supports Riversands Incubation Hub – a business hub that nurtures and develops black-owned SMEs and entrepreneurs – in its initiative to encourage growth and develop leaders that will make a difference in our country. Some of the team has visited the hub a few times to facilitate social media working sessions. They got to witness some of the wonderful work that is being accomplished by the different industries represented on the campus.

After a successful FundEX in 2016, Riversands is set to host yet another Inaugural FundEX on 17 August 2017.

FundEX 2016 boasted of a wide spectrum of funders and investment providers who came out to expose funding and personal wealth creation opportunities, as well as highlight some of the innovative funding mechanisms to entrepreneurs.

Among these investment providers was Charles Savage, CEO of EasyEquities, an award-winning investment platform built by the Purple Group that gives all South Africans the opportunity to buy shares on the JSE and invest in the companies and brands they love.

This year FundEX will focus on funding alone. Entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to ask their funding questions to industry players and to:

  • Learn first-hand what funders look for
  • Know why applications are declined
  • Match funding needs with funders
  • Understand how to get funding-ready

Call for speakers:
Riversands is seeking experts or entrepreneurs that have been successful in securing funding to speak about the different types of funding and how entrepreneurs can secure one.

They will be among great industry players mainly at the CEO, MD, director and/or GM level. Speakers will get some extra media mileage through interviews with FundEX’s media partners.

Industry partnership
FundEX is currently working with some great partners (Kaya FM, FinFind, SME South Africa, etc) who are playing a great role in making this event possible. This year, FundEX is open to adding another industry partner to its partner list. The industry body will benefit from a free exhibition space, a speaking or moderation opportunity, brand exposure and potential interview opportunities in exchange for promoting the event to their database.

FundEX calls on industry bodies and corporates to support the FundEX 2017 by sponsoring the event. Sponsors will get an opportunity to own a large chunk of the event. This is an ideal way to demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to developing SMEs and entrepreneurs.
