Are you really checking out when you go on holiday?

Working in a lifestyle business definitely has its perks. We get to work wherever we are in the world – and we do! – doing what we love with amazing people. The big note that we sometimes forget is to ensure we achieve balance. Yes, we need to make sure that we do what needs to be done. But we have to plan our lives carefully to avoid burnout. Nobody can be always-on, 24/7/365.

We came across a brilliant article on BDLive by freelance journalist Yvonne Fortuin about the importance of switching off from time to time. Really switching off, not just going to the beach with our phones and laptops at the ready “just in case”. The article is particularly relevant to us as lifestyle businessfolk, especially as many of us are about to head off on our holidays.

The article also includes advice from our favourite all-inclusive holiday partner, Club Med, on how keeping active can actually help us to relax and disconnect.

Disclaimer… we’re around all through the holiday season. Those of us going on holiday have made plans with those of us who aren’t to ensure 24/7/365 availability throughout.

Okay… you’ve heard the pitch, now read the article: Beat holiday apathy by simply living in the moment
