Sub 2 hour marathon for Eliud Kipchoge

Pushing the limits – sub 2 hour marathon

On Saturday the 12 of October 2019 history was made when Eliud Kipchoge became the first athlete to run a marathon in under 2 hours.

His achievement captured the attention of the world and while it IAAF did not classify Kipchoge’s time of 1 hr 59 mins and 40.2 seconds as an official world record, it highlighted that #NoHumanIsLimited.

At CN&CO we enjoy seeing boundaries pushed and the team love taking on a challenge. Over the years the different associates in the CN&CO network have completed a number of running events – Comrades Marathon finishes; two MAD2Run teams (a relay charity run from Joburg to Cape Town); and many half marathon races like this year’s Skakuza Marathon.

Kipchoge said at the end of the run that he did it  “to inspire many people, that no human is limited.”
