Working with people and brands that care really gets me excited

The year kicked off with a bang. I achieved my goal of hosting South Africa’s largest one-day clean up on 18 February in partnership with 5FM, Two Oceans Aquarium, Clean C and Sea Shepherds. I am still blown away that we collected over 1.6 tons of litter and recycled more than half of it!

Purple Group Cape Town also moved into new offices in Loop Street (pictured right). Without wasting any time we had a roof-wetting on our first day with clients and friends. These offices are seriously cool. Make sure you pop in for a coffee.

I joined Simply Life Insurance on a weekly workshop with domestic workers, where we discussed their needs, the perception of life insurance and what the expect from it. I learnt so much and realised why I love working with ethical, passionate people who really believe in their product and its value. I’m really excited about working with this team, making its simple, quick and affordable to get good quality life cover.

And we can’t forget about our Olympic rowing team, who started their training towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Yes, they have started training already! Lawrence Brittian and Shaun Keeling have squeezed in a few more inspiring talks while we update the National Squad website and helped to find partners and sponsors – specifically organising a bakkie sponsorship for Lawrence from Ford Hatfield in Pretoria.

In between all of this I have found some time to play in the mountains and train for the Paris Marathon.

It’s good to be busy – and even better to be busy with things I love.

Blake brings a lot of energy, passion and heart into everything he does. He is extremely passionate about our country, it’s people and the environment. He is based in Cape Town and is happiest when he is running around exploring the beauty of the mountains.
