No whining here, just good wine and great company

We’ve said it many times before – people and brands (and relationships between the two) are among our favourite things. Also on that list of things we love, is wine – specifically good wine in great company with superb conversations. It was within that exact context that we held our August ConFab session titled “How wine changes the world, saves us from Donald Trump and other bacchian tales.”

Our speaker for this month’s ConFab session was our good friend, Derek Kilpin. Derek first started in the wine industry in 2000 when he worked at various wineries in Stellenbosch while completing his BSc degree. Most notably was the period at Waterford wine estate hosting tastings, cellar tours and assisting in the winery during harvest. In 2007 Derek returned to South Africa determined to continue working with the fine wines of Europe in some shape or form. It wasn’t long before he met Great Domaines founder Wayne Visser – and the rest is history.

Derek shared many an interesting tale from his travels and wine journey with us, which guests thoroughly enjoyed. Guests also enjoyed some of the world’s most exquisite dark chocolate which Great Domaines used to supply – along with their world famous wines.

We had many a client and friend joining us for a few glasses of Great Domaines’ finest Prosecco and wine, and fantastic conversation. Trish Luthuli from Pam Golding, Cindy Beets from Lightstone, Mark Beets from Entelect, Kelly Jackson and Darsha Soobramoney from Contiki, Vaughan Jones from Fulcrum, Nic Kohler from Hollard and many more.

Cheers to good wine and great company!
