#NdaloMayIssue celebrates Johanna Mukoki, Basetsana Kumalo and Romeo Kumalo at Wangthai

On Wednesday, 26th April, Wangthai Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton hosted Destiny Magazine in celebrating their May Issue cover stars Johanna Mukoki and Basetsana Kumalo and Destiny Man cover star Romeo Kumalo. The event was sponsored by Wangthai, Black Oystercatcher Wines and Perrier-Jouët Champagne and Ndalo Media

Sisters Johanna and Basetsana, are a relentless entrepreneurial power-house pair – “Basetsana Kumalo and Johanna Mukoki have a strong and irreverent sisterhood built on trust, integrity and business acumen that’s virtually unmatched among their peers” said Sheena Adams. Travel With Flair (TWF) was founded by Johanna along with two other partners, Robert Wilke and Tibor Zsadanyi turning 21 this year. Basetsana became a shareholder and Director in the business 16 years ago crediting Johanna for the phenomenal double-digit growth of the business over the years. “Our Parents imparted the spirit of entrepreneurship in us quite early on” said Basetsana, adding the the entrepreneurial spirit that we have is in our DNA highlighting that one needs to step out of their comfort zone in order to embark on a journey of success. 

Romeo Kumalo’s name is synonymous with the Media and Telecommunications throughout Africa. Having achieved great success in the media and broadcasting industry, Romeo transitioned into the Information, Communications and Telecoms sector as a highly successful CEO of Vodacom/Vodafone International holding the positions accountable for commercial development and managing the cellular giant’s interest in African markets.  He is now the CEO and co-founder of Washirika Holdings, a pan-African investment holding and private equity company.  Recently, Romeo also appeared on Shark Tank South Africa, where entrepreneurs go up in front of a panel of esteemed successful South African business moguls, known as the “sharks”, who are willing to invest their own money and time potentially lucrative business ideas. “If we are to empower our children, we need to start with changing the types of conversations we have around the dinner table” said Romeo.
The cover stars and their guests which included South African entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Ndalo Media, Khanyi Dhlomo enjoyed a signature menu which captured the essence of authentic Thai cuisine in a luxurious environment.
