Where are all the fintech life insurance startups?

The fintech space is exploding with new apps and products for financial services consumers. However, it would seem that the life insurance sector is still under-represented. But not for long!

In a 2014 Insurance Barometer survey in the US, 83% of respondents said they would use the internet to research life insurance before purchasing a policy if they had the choice.

“While face-to-face contact with an agent remains the preferred purchase channel, nearly one in four said that given the option they would prefer to research and purchase online,” says an article entitled Insurance Innovation: No Longer Oxymoron in InsuranceThoughtLeadership.com.

And we hear there’s a new life insurance startup launching later this year that’s promising, simply, “easy sign up, simple policies and great prices.”

“We’re redesigning life insurance, from the ground up – especially for you,” says its website.
