Jozi Film Festival opening film unveiled

CN&CO is delighted to be working with the Jozi Film Festival once again this year. 2019 marks the eighth instalment of Joburg’s longest running independent film festival and the line-up of films, doccies and music videos is looking very impressive, indeed!

This year’s festival will open with Ernest Nkosi’s new documentary film, “AN ORDINARY PEOPLE”, which focuses on the phenomenon of car spinning.

Car spinning is South Africa’s first original motorsport, unique for its longstanding popularity, where hustlers and dreamers of modest means become heroes.

Billed as a private screening, this film is hot out of the editing room. JFF is delighted to give Jozi audiences the first look on 3 October at 5:30pm, Nu Metro, Hyde Park Corner.

Hyde Park Nu Metro is one of three fabulous venues for this year’s festival. There will also be screenings at The Bioscope independent cinema in Maboneng and at the Delta Park Theatre.

“None of this would be possible without our main sponsor for 2019, Chubb Insurance, which has been underwriting film productions for more than 40 years, staying apace with the new technologies of this ever-changing industry,” says JFF co-founder and organiser, Lisa Henry. “We’re also most grateful to Business and Arts South Africa and EasyEquities for their contributions to this year’s festival.”

The eighth Jozi Film Festival takes place from 3 to 6 October 2019. Keep an eye on www.jozifilmfestival.co.za for further details. Tickets go on sale in early September.
