IN THE SADDLE: We’re going up!

In a previous blog, Purple Group‘s Josh Nuttall shared his excitement around his upcoming Everesting attempt. Now read the update…

We’re going up… 8 484 metres to be exact!

A quick update on where we are with the Everesting attempt that I had planned for later this month. Life happens and unfortunately I fell sick at the beginning of this month. Something didn’t agree to my stomach; I won’t go into too much detail.

As a result of this, I decided to postpone the Everesting attempt to Saturday, 7 October 2017. The hill, the objective and the plan are still the same… just a week later than originally planned.

You can read more about my motivators in my last blog on the topic: IN THE SADDLE: ‘Everesting’ for charity

I am pleased that my mate James Barnes, branch manager at Complete Cyclist, has decided to join me for this Everesting. Having completed an Everesting before and being MAD about bicycles, it’s great to have him in the saddle for the Everesting!

We are both looking forward to the challenge and spreading the word about the work Qhubeka does.

A big thank you to the Qhubeka team, Gaylene, Anthony and Kevin, for your support and encouragement.

In the build-up to 7 October, James and I will be sharing our bike choices. Which bicycle will be the best? The new Specialized Epic or the new Specialized Tarmac? More to come next week. If you’re keen to find out more about these bikes, drop James a line.

It’s great to have Complete Cyclist on board for this Everesting; we fully appreciate the support and thank you (Scott Mckenzie and team) for getting behind us as we attempt to challenge ourselves to raise funds for Qhubeka.
