I wish someone had told me how easy it is to learn a new language

Last year whilst travelling in France, I thought to myself – You really have to speak some French to make things easier here – and to get the full experience of this magical place.

A few days later, I was sitting at a coffee shop with some fabulous friends from South Africa and the one told me that she has been using this amazing app called Duolingo to learn Italian and she recommended that I try it out for French.

I downloaded the app immediately and typed in that I would like to learn French, and off I went!

It has been a few months and I’m sticking to daily lessons of 15 minutes or so – and I am sure that once I return to France I will be able to at least have a basic conversation with the locals.

`The app has different exercises tailored for you with specific skills to practice vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. With more than 500 million users they must be doing something right!

A few of my friends have also joined the app since then and we can now track each others’ progress and motivate one another to keep going.

So if you are thinking of learning a new language, Duolingo is the app for you with 30+ languages to chose from.
