I wish someone had told me about the promising potential of AI

The launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT-3 last year created a buzz globally.

ChatGPT has become a hot topic in the digital world, showcasing yet another milestone in our modern lives.

The digital age is constantly evolving, and with change often comes uncertainty, but as with past technological innovations, AI has the potential to improve our daily lives, industries, and society.

Once ChatGPT was introduced, the internet erupted with articles about this revolutionary program and how it was bound to replace white-collar jobs everywhere. But as is usually the case when emerging technologies rear their heads, people’s fears take over and mountains are consequently made from molehills.

The thing is, we’ve been to this junction before:

  • The dawn of the lift (aka the elevator) in the 1800s created mass hysteria of potential claustrophobia attacks, joint ailments, and “illness” caused by a rapid rise and descent – let alone the imminent snapping of cables…
  • Commercial radio and TV caused grave concerns that they would expose society to propaganda, resulting in the end of free-thinking…
  • The rise of computers alarmed nations that they would ultimately enslave and control us…
  • The internet would mark the demise of countries, societies, and cultures…

As it turns out…

Each of these innovations was merely a tool that empowered us to do things more efficiently, leaving us with more time to do what we love doing, essentially adding to our quality of life…

  • Lifts literally took us to new heights faster… (provided you knew what buttons to press)
  • Radio and TV offered us entertainment like never before and kept us informed by delivering local and international news… (provided you knew how to set them up, turn them on, and select the right channels)…
  • Computers and the internet freed people from the likes of manual typewriters, Tipex, calculators, and encyclopedias, as well as mundane trips to the library, bank, and post office (provided you knew how to use programs like Word, Google, Excel, and email)

We’re currently experiencing a historic turning point where people and tech merge closer than ever before. Making life better, simpler, faster, safer – and a lot more enjoyable… Imagine the possibilities we can now harness with AI (provided you know how to use it)!

Artificial Intelligence has the potential to enhance various aspects of our lives, including healthcare with personalized treatments, combating crimes such as human trafficking, optimizing renewable energy generation, improving transportation safety with self-driving cars, revolutionizing education, and providing insights from vast amounts of data.

By adopting AI, we have the opportunity to free up more time for the things that matter most, such as spending quality time with loved ones, pursuing additional income, and making a positive impact on the world. With minimal barriers to adopting AI, it is now accessible for everyone to upskill and harness its benefits.

There are many unforeseen shifts ahead, but one thing is clear: The minimal barriers to adopting AI now make it accessible for everyone to upskill themselves and harness its capabilities – provided we perceive it as an ally rather than an enemy.

Gianluca brings a touch of Italian flair to everything he does. His eye for detail, superior organisational skills and rare ability to nag relentlessly (in the nicest possible way) help to keep the team on track and on target. Say good things to him about Juventus and you’ll have a friend for life.
