Honey TV – and other sweet televisual delights

Isn’t it amazing that with all the TV channels and streaming services, we still get anxious when TV time comes around that there’s nothing to watch?! If you’re caught in a trailer trap, here are some recommendations that might delight your senses:

Honey TV

This is a new African lifestyle channel on DStv that promises real-life, unscripted drama from across the continent.

From following the lives of pastors’ wives and husbands-to-be, to swapping recipes, partners and gossip, there’s always going to be something exciting happening on channel 173.

‘Making the Menu’ is a Kenyan restaurant reality show coming soon to Honey TV

Look out for Honey TV from 15 February 2021. Prepare to be entertained in true African style.

Marquee TV

If your taste tends to be more classical, a good night in with streaming service Marquee TV is always a treat. Team CN&CO has spent many happy hours enjoying theatrical performances, opera, dance and symphonic music on the channel – especially when theatres and concert halls were closed during lockdown.

Marquee TV offers a cornucopia of fabulous classical content, from Shakespeare to Sondheim and from Beethoven to the Bolshoi.

The service costs $9 per month or $90 if you sign up for an annual membership. A seven-day free trial is available if you’re unsure… but you’re bound to be left wanting more.

EasyEasy on The Weather Channel

Joining forces with The People’s Weather Channel – DStv channel 180 and OpenView 115 – CN&CO partner EasyEquities is showcasing the ease of investing as well as learning other skills.

Recent episodes saw EasyEquities user Edfren Kampala sharing his bee-keeping skills and Olympic rowing medal winner Shaun Keeling (who also happens to be the ETF guru at EasyEquities and a mate to many of us at CN&CO) showing Bonolo Modise (Emperor Asset Management’s brand manager) how to row.
