“Supporting rowing at all levels is key to our sponsorship of the sport,” says Lucy Lightfoot, head of brand at RMB. “It is encouraging to see a number of development rowing teams participating in this year’s event. Being exposed to competition at this level is a vital part in the growth of young rowers, some of whom have the potential to represent South Africa on the international stage.”

The RMB National Squad  partnered up with Gauteng Junior Rowing Championships to host a selection trial regatta for senior athletes wanting to join the RMB National Squad, bringing more excitement to the weekend of rowing.

“Having RMB as an event partner allows us to host a professional and memorable event for all the athletes and spectators,” says St Andrew’s Foundation manager, Caterina Cannone.

Jamie Croly, St Andrew’s head rowing coach, added, “Along with SA Schools Champs in March, this regatta is a highlight of many rowers’ seasons and is very important in the development of athletes through the season.”
