Fact-finding at Entelect

CN&CO’s Colin Ford, Rob Christian and Gabbi Rego are on a fact-finding mission at our new client, Entelect. After one hour with communications officer Portia van der Berg, the trio are excited to get the show on the road.

(But first, let me take a selfie – Colin, a very-surprised Rob, Gabbi and Portia were snapped in the pic above.)

“There are loads of stories to be told about this dynamic software development business,” says Gabbi, “ranging from the projects they work on and technical insights, to thoughts on business development and internal culture.”

Entelect was named best company to work for in South Africa in Deloitte’s 2014 and 2015 Best Company to Work For surveys, and also won the best small compay to work for and best tech company to work for awards in 2014. In 2015 Deloitte changed the structure of the competition, but Entelect still came out tops across the board, with company culture being the company’s top-scoring metric.

“One of the first things that struck me about Entelect is the physical environment that the team works in at the company’s HQ in Melrose Arch,” says Colin. “It’s open and funky, with break areas, free drinks, board games, x-box … things that add to the work experience and make people happier to come to the office.”

On investigation, we learnt that it’s not just the physical space that contributes to the happiness of the team.

“Team members log their mood every day,” says Portia, who joined the Entelect team just a few weeks ago. “If management sees that someone has been unhappy for a few days, they go and see what they can do to make the situation better. It really happens!”

There are also regular sports, social and geek-focused events that the company runs.

“The work that Entelect does is incredibly technical and spans a variety of industries, including insurance,” says Rob. “A lot of Entelect’s clients are also in our financial services networks – companies like Purple Group, Lightstone, Standard Bank, Hollard, Discovery and Alexander Forbes.”

We can’t wait to learn more about the Entelect business and help to take awareness around the brand to the next level.
