EEconorisk risk series 12 April

Econorisk Risk Series kicks off

Justin Naylor, Tumelo Stoffel and Matt van den Heuvel

The first instalment of the Econorisk Risk Series took place at the Johannesburg Country Club, Woodmead, on 12 April 2019. The event focused on political risk ahead of the upcoming national and provincial elections.

As the name suggests, the Risk Series, sponsored by Econorisk, is a series of talks presented by thought leaders in the risk management space.

The event serves as a networking opportunity and brand building platform, positioning Econorisk and its partners as thought leaders and experts in the field.  The event also provides the audience with pertinent information on the chosen topic and encourages them to safeguard their businesses and consider the different covers available.

“We felt that, with a few weeks to go before the elections, it was a really good time to share some of the insurance products available that cover risks we are facing in the run-up to elections,” said Econorisk joint-CEO, Matt van den Heuvel, in his welcome. “I hope as a business leader and business owner that these elections will give us some certainty as to the future of our country.

“We remain bullish that we will come out on the other side of these elections as a stronger nation.”

The speakers at the inaugural event were Tumelo Stoffel of Sasria and Justin Naylor of ITOO.

Tumelo gave an interesting presentation on the intricacies of Sasria cover – what is deemed political unrest and what isn’t – while Justin’s talk focused on kidnap and ransom insurance and how important it is in these turbulent times.
