EasyEquities sponsors Jozi Film Festival mobile phone film contest

Jozi Film Festival 2016 bannerThe CN&CO team has always been committed to the support and development of the arts in South Africa. Our latest venture is a partnership with the Jozi Film Festival to assist with PR and sponsorship opportunities.

On 22 July the Jozi Film Festival, in partnership with CN&CO client EasyEquities, launched a brand new mobile phone film competition.

The theme: Jozi: Love /Hate
The prize: R2 500 cash PLUS R2 500 in an EasyEquities account PLUS tickets to the Jozi Film Festival Awards Night

“Most of us have a schizophrenic relationship with The City of Gold,” says Jozi Film Festival organiser and co-founder Lisa Henry. “Sometimes we love it, other times we hate it. We love to hate it and we hate to love it.

“We want to hear from Joburgers how you feel about your city. What’s the best part about living in Jozi? Where’s your favourite hangout? What moves you about living here? What drives you insane about Joburg?”

Your film can be about absolutely anything. Record yourself talking to camera in Melville Koppies, shoot a narrative about your daily journey from Diepsloot to the CBD, show us your rowing skills on Zoo Lake, cooking your favourite food with your friends, taking a stand against racism and injustice, or picking up litter on the Braamfontein Spruit – whatever lights a fire in your heart right now.

“We want you to make a 30-second to two-minute film on your phone and upload it to the Jozi Film Festival Facebook page. Show us or tell us about the best and worst of this complex city and you could walk away with a fantastic prize.”

EasyEquities brand manager Carly Barnes says EasyEquities is excited to support creatives and filmmakers by helping them to grow and sustain their wealth.

“EasyEquities is an online platform that makes it easy for anyone (even stock market newbies and those who have never invested before) to buy shares in JSE-listed companies,” she says. “We are the cheapest and easiest out there and you can invest with as little as R5!”

Lisa says entering the Jozi Film Festival mobile phone film contest is as easy as buying shares on EasyEquities.

“You really don’t need much more than a mobile phone with video capabilities,” she says. “And just like anyone can invest on the JSE, so too can anyone enter the competition.”

Says Carly, “Jozi is an awesome backdrop for this competition as it represents the brilliant mix of people in South Africa, all of whom should be empowered to start investing.”

Feel free to share on your social media sites using the hashtag #JFF2016.

The competition closes on 30 August. The winner will be chosen by the JFF team and “likes” and shares on social media will be taken into account.
