EasyEquities Donate for Good supports ‘67 Blankets’

The EasyEquities Donate for Good initiative has raised hundreds of thousands of rands for a range of charities such as South Coast HospiceOperation Hunger, Nature’s Valley Trust, Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy and Bokamoso Education Trust.

Donations come from EasyEquities investors, who are asked at the end of each transaction if they would like to make a contribution to the incumbent charity. Donations from as little as R5 are accepted, making it really easy and affordable to help make a difference.

The current charity is 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, a movement that was started at the end of 2013 by Carolyn Steyn, who we know today as the presenter of “Classic Lunch” on Classic 1027 FM – one of Carel’s favourite radio shows.

“I love Carolyn’s Classic Lunch show and have it on every day in the background while I’m working – or even the foreground if I have a few minutes to listen actively,” he says. “It was an added bonus to hear Carolyn interviewing my colleague Craig Turton from Emperor Asset Management recently on the Classic Lunch Investment Q&A series.”

Donate for Good is an ongoing charitable drive, and just one of EasyEquities’ remarkable achievements in recent times. The platform recently reached one million registered users – and even had a song written and recorded (including a stunning music video) to commemorate and celebrate the brand’s success.

The share price of EasyEquities’ holding company Purple Group has also reached record highs on the back of some amazing interim financial results.

“EasyEquities and Purple Group are flying high at the moment, thanks to the support of our partners – most notably Satrix and Capitec – investors, and amazing Easy team,” concludes Carel.
