Dumelang, Sanibonani, Molweni, Aloha, hola, and hello!

We’re delighted to welcome a new team member to the CN&CO family. Lethabo-Thabo Royds, a.k.a. Thabs, joins us permanently from 1 May 2018. Here’s a note she wrote us to introduce herself (although most of us have known her for several years). There will be a lot more about and by Thabs on the CN&CO blog from next month…

Dear Team CN&CO,

I am so looking forward to joining your team in May and I’m excited to get stuck into some of the great work you have lined up.

My name is Lethabo-Thabo Royds; this should give you a strong indication of who I am. My first name means “great happiness”; a blessing I received at birth from my amazing maternal grandmother. I believe that what you choose to name a child blesses that child with something; for me, my grandmother destined me to be happy and to share happiness with others. She was so sure that happiness would be part of my life that she created the name “Lethabo-Thabo” just for me. (I often need to explain to people that it is indeed a real name, because it is my name, and yes, removing any part of it changes the meaning of my name.)

I join you after a few years at St Stithians College as the PR, media, and communication manager for the whole school. Before that I worked at a digital agency where I was a media developer, client manager, media trainer, and more. I have strong writing, client management, and PR skills as well as strong skills in social media management, social media analytics, and website management. I enjoy the digital space, I love finding innovative and creative solutions to things, and I am comfortable using a number of analytics tools.

I’m generally up for a good chat and I’m happy to help wherever and however I can.

I love travelling and meeting new people and I know my time with you at CN&CO will involve lots of that, and so much more. Among other things, I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching good television shows, watching good movies, and reading good books.
