The Discovery 947 Ride Joburg route will challenge your legs with some tough climbs through the City of Joburg. Once again it will start and finish at Riversands Commercial Park. With complete road closure, all the lanes on this stunning route through the city are yours for the day! You can savour this once-a-year chance to experience the streets of Joburg car free.

Over the last few years the Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy have grown the number of riders who ride the 947 in support of the Academy. This year they have 34 Team Thandulwazi Cyclists who will be taking to the streets of Joburg to raise funds.

The Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy was created in 2005, a pioneering initiative of St Stithians College to provide educational growth opportunities for students and teachers based in public schools in greater Johannesburg. The Academy’s activities are hosted at and supported by St Stithians, and funding is provided predominantly through corporate CSI contributions and private donations. This is a shining private-public partnership model and St Stithians is proud to call the Thandulwazi Academy the seventh school of the College.

Check out the Thandulwazi social media feeds were they have been profiling the individual riders. The QR code directs people directly to the Thandulwazi Donation Page where they then select the Team Thandulwazi Discovery 947 Ride Joburg initiative and then select the rider which they would like to support individually; people may also donate directly into the Thandulwazi Bank Account and use the riders’ individual codes together with their own details. A reminder to please forward us the POP and their details to the Thandulwazi team in order for them to issue a Section 18A Tax Certificate for your donation.

From the full CN&CO team and associates, we wish everyone riding The Discovery 947 Ride Joburg a safe ride/race.
