#DestinyMarchIssue celebrates Carol Tshabalala at Orient

On Sunday, 5th March, Orient Melrose Arch hosted Destiny Magazine in celebrating their March Issue cover star Carol Tshabalala. The event was sponsored by Orient Melrose Arch, Villiers Wines and Celltone South Africa.

Carol is an award winning sports presenter, MC, ring announcer, golden gloves ambassador and is recognized as the ‘first lady’ of sport in South Africa. “I countered the negative perceptions of being a woman in sports by always being prepared”, she said as she spoke of her experiences in the sports industry.

Carol and her guests including South African football legends, Benni McCarthy and Siphiwe Tshabalala enjoyed a signature menu which captured the multidimensional blends of Asian cuisine offered.

The restaurant provided the perfect setting for beautiful flower arrangements created by Lisinda Hodgskin from Vintage Orchid Floral and Event Design, who is most famously known for being a Mrs South Africa finalist. Karen Green from Villiers Wine sponsored the wine. Carol and her guests also received pamper packs sponsored from Celltone inclusive of beauty and skincare products.

During the event, Carol was interviewed by none other than Power FM’s Becky Motumo. “I believe that my career came looking for the Destiny March Issue”, said Carol.
