CN&CO’s millennial Q&A

In the past year we’ve welcomed three new millennial team members to CN&CO. Neo Matsei, Emi Adriano and Lorraine Lamola have added much-needed capacity and diversity to our business. We did a little Q&A session with each of them to see where they’re at…

Lorraine

What has been your best and most challenging experience as an intern thus far?
My best has definitely been working with a dynamic, fun and hardworking team and having the ability to express my ideas. My most challenging has been learning about the insurance industry and working with clients I never thought I’d interact with.

What is your tool to managing your time efficiently?
PLANNING! I tend to keep a diary to keep track of deadlines and refer to a to-do list to ensure that my outputs are being met. Nothing like crossing off a finished task in your diary!

Do you have any quick fashion tips for a working girl?
Wear what you’re most comfortable in (that doesn’t mean pyjamas though!) Accessorise and make sure your outfit projects your personality. Fashion is fun so don’t take yourself too seriously – although always remember to take what you do seriously.

Emi

What does a lifestyle business mean to you?
A lifestyle business to me means that I can meet my work outputs while still diversifying my portfolio, taking time to focus on myself and my other commitments… all of this while having fun and exercising my individuality.

What does it mean to work with clients who you previously experienced as a consumer?
It’s been very interesting, sometimes even challenging, due to the fact that I have had my own personal experiences with them. However, these experiences enable me to approach projects through multiple perspectives and not only from a business-minded one. It allows me to optimise my creativity and think outside the box.

What do you love most about travelling?
Every single bit of it! I love being anonymous in a big city. I’m definitely the type of person who is intoxicated by memories and feelings. There’s nothing quite like travelling to awaken the soul and spark the imagination. Where you go becomes a part of you somehow and I definitely plan to make my mark in lots of countries, places and spaces.

What do you like most about your job?
I love that my job challenges me every day in different ways. I am constantly learning new things through working with different clients and the team at CN&CO.

What have you learnt from working with insurance clients?
It’s true that insurance affects virtually everything we do in life and in business. There is a lot of information to keep up with in an insurance role, thus it’s crucial that I am always in the know.

What is your best accessory?
My smile! 🙂 It always speaks for me.
