The Discovery Real Time “Real Stories Told By Real People About Real Lives” Award forms part of this year’s Jozi Film Festival. The organisers have put out an Africa-wide call for three- to five-minute films on the theme: “Real Stories Told By Real People About Real Lives”.

The winner will receive $2 500, second prize $1 000 and third prize, $750. The top 20 films will be broadcast on Real Time. The public will vote for the top three via the Discovery Real Time website and social media pages.

Entries must be submitted by 19:00 CAT on 30 August 2019. 

Films must be shot in HD and 16:9 landscape, using any device of the entrants’ choosing. Films must be delivered in the following high-resolution format: 25fps (or HD (1920×1080)), 2K, Quicktime.

Entrants must be 18 years or older, and reside in Africa.
