On Monday, 21 September, I was privileged to represent the CN&CO team at the 18th annual BASA Awards, partnered by Hollard. The event took place at the spectacular Constitutional Court foyer. It is fitting that, during the week we celebrate our national heritage (hope you are all braaing with me on National Heritage Day Thursday – 24 September!), we could experience so tangibly one of the most special places of culture and identity in our beautiful country.

As one has come to expect, the BASA awards showed that they are not “just” another awards ceremony. The event was fun and classy with a dash of style – great food, drinks and great people to mingle with. Most importantly, we celebrated the winners – people and companies who have understood the mutual benefit the at world and commerce gain by working closely together.

The awards recognise the contribution of the business sector to the arts, across all genres. The awards for the 2015 winners was made by the sculpture of Collen Maswanganyi, ranging in material from cork to wood. For an overview of the winners check out @BASA_news’s Twitter feed.

The host for the evening was the beautiful Azania Mosaka from 702, and handing the awards to the winners was the Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa.

A massive well done and thank you for a spectacular evening must go to the BASA CEO, Michelle Constant and her wonderful team.
