It’s been an app of a year! What’s your favourite?

Time magazine just revealed its list for the Top 50 apps of the year. Certainly, apps have now become commonplace in our lives and using them often leads us to fulfilling goals, making a purchase, learning or just getting from A to B efficiently. At CN&CO we’re passionate about tech and integrating it into our lives. Below are some of the top voted apps, including some of my favourites and some of my CN&CO partners’ ones.

Time’s #1 app / Venmo

Extremely popular and efficient money-sending app (especially when splitting bills).

#4  (and Emi and Rikus’s favorite) / SnapChat

Mobile fun and communication at it’s best, and has fellow CN&CO’ers Emi and Rikus addicted to the various funky selfie filters.

#5 Pokemon Go

Hit the world by storm and even had Rob asking and commenting on the insurance implications.

#6 (and Carel’s favorite) / WhatsApp

Communication has never been easier and it’s just remarkable (and convenient) how a WhatsApp chat group transcends boundaries and even makes planning events or staying informed that much cooler!

#9 Spotify (one of my absolute favourites)

Access to the world of tunes. The best digital radio stations from around the world and an absolute treat for any occasion be it on a run, driving home or those Sunday mornings chilling and listening to the Chainsmokers or Calvin Harris depending on what mood you are in (yes, it has a mood sensing playlist offering).

#11 Prisma

A very cool photo editing app with incredible power and ability to transform your images.

#21 Day One

A neat app allowing you to record moments in a journal to keep track of those rewarding, enriching and reflective times in your life (or year).

CN&CO favorites…

Josie’s favourite / YR Weather

Informative weather app that geo-locates your position offering a detailed weather report and stats.

Gabbi’s favourite / Instagram

A modern classic. Expression through imagery and a way for Gabbi to share her little Olive’s story (her Boston Terrier).

Colin’s favourite / Scrabble

Learning new words and showing off those he already knows…

Kurt’s favourite / Google Calendar

The ultimate organiser app that keeps the CN&CO Leb on his toes and the right place at the right time.

Rob’s favourite / Cognition

A lekker app that lets tutors and students connect in via the app. Essentially it lets students request specific subjects, times and prices for lessons and tutors to connect with them in a digital marketplace. In a country where education is paramount and can push a country forward, Cognition is a shining example of progress in the e-learning space.

Gianluca brings a touch of Italian flair to everything he does. His eye for detail, superior organisational skills and rare ability to nag relentlessly (in the nicest possible way) help to keep the team on track and on target. Say good things to him about Juventus and you’ll have a friend for life.
