FANews Insurance Apprentice: & then there were eight…

And just like that, the Insurance Apprentice has kicked into high gear with the announcement of the final eight for season two. The lucky finalists who will battle it out for the top spot in 2016 are: Alicia Narainsamy (Auto & General), Andre Brooks (Price Forbes), Celina Bhima (Hollard), Chris Caalsen (ACE), Karabo Kopeka (Hollard), Priya Govender (Mutual and Federal), Richard Cunliffe (Aon Benfield), Unathi Ntengo (Marsh).

There were over 100 submissions for this year’s Insurance Apprentice proving that there is no short supply of young talent in this vibey industry. From 100, FANews narrowed it down to a top 30 and issued them with a challenge – upload a one to two minute selfie video on The Insurance Apprentice in which they told us who they are, what they do and why they should be in the final eight.

There were some real selfie video gems in the final 30, and picking the finalists was no easy feat!

“The panel members had a tough call but this process eased the way forward in determining who the final contestants would be. Having chosen the final eight, we are confident in our decision and we look forward to filming the second series of The Insurance Apprentice early next year,” said Rianet Whitehead, Editor of FAnews and Organiser of The Insurance Apprentice.

But, there can only be one. Filming commences 11 to 15 January 2016 and the series is expected to be released mid-February on The Insurance Apprentice and FAnews websites, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages. We are counting down to the first official challenge and episode – which will be sponsored by CN&CO. We’re big on mentorship and education, so naturally, we jumped at the chance to get involved with such a great (and fun) initiative like this within the industry. We recently hosted the top six finalists from the first season of the Insurance Apprentice, at the annual IIG gala dinner, where Roxanne Moodley, the winner, shared some great insight with us from her experience. In the first season, our partners and friends, Fulcrum www.thefulcrumgroup.co.za, together with Pablo Clark Racing www.pabloclark.com, hosted the finalists at a fun night out of racing simulator Ferrari’s at the PCR showroom. Stay tuned to see what we have up our sleeve for season 2!

We’ll bring you the latest updates from the Insurance Apprentice as things unfold, so be sure to keep an eye on our blog or follow us on Twitter @cnandco.
