AIE 2020: Why you should be there

The 2020 African Insurance Exchange promises a wealth of exploration, imagination and celebration. CN&CO is proud to be part of the team organising the 2020 conference on behalf of the Insurance Institute of South Africa and the South African Insurance Association (SAIA).

The conference takes place from Sunday, 26 to Wednesday, 29 July at Sun City, where delegates will be treated to a stellar line-up of speakers and panellists, networking opportunities aplenty, and loads of opportunities to have fun.

We have incorporated feedback from previous years and can honestly say that this year’s AIE will be nothing short of spectacular. PLUS if you register before the end of January 2020, you qualify for the early-bird special of just R9 000. Regular member price is R9 500 and non-member price is R12 200. (All prices exclude VAT.)

As always, the event will attract high-level delegates from across the insurance spectrum, as well as SA’s top industry media. There will be plenty of press activations throughout the conference, giving you unprecedented access to members of the media to discuss your thoughts and ideas in an informal setting.

  • Theme

Our theme this year – Explore. Imagine. Celebrate. – encourages delegates to

  • Explore the current landscape and develop a more in-depth understanding of the “as is” scenario in our industry and the broader economy
  • Imagine what “could be” as we put our heads together and contemplate a future of access, innovation and transformation (among other things)
  • Celebrate our successes and the amazing work that our industry does helping our clients on a daily basis

The theme encompasses a broad range of content to appeal to delegates across the industry spectrum – including life, wealth management, healthcare, short-term, employee benefits and a whole lot more – and applies to service providers and intermediaries alike.

  • Outdoor activities

In 2019 we expanded our line-up of outdoor activities beyond the traditional Sunday golf game, to include a putting competition, a fun run, a “row against a pro” contest and daily 5k morning runs with a Comrades champion.

This year we’re looking to expand the variety of outdoor activities even further. Keep an eye on your inbox and on the IISA and SAIA social media platforms for more information.

  • Sun City

Sun City remains the venue of choice for the African Insurance Exchange in 2020.

Firstly, it’s big enough to accommodate us all. Secondly, it’s close to Gauteng, which is where the majority of our industry is located. Thirdly, no one needs to drive home at night, which means we can enjoy a few drinks together without worrying. Fourthly, it has everything right there, in one place. There is plenty to do between sessions to keep yourself busy.

  • Speakers and topics

We are currently working on securing speakers and panellists for the 2020 African Insurance Exchange, and a few of our top choices have already agreed to participate. We will share details in due course.

What we can tell you is that we have some incredible ideas and are certain we will attract the cream of the crop from local and international industries.

The full conference programme will be released soon.

Be sure to follow the IISA social media channels for regular updates and news leading up to the event.
