A happy Mother’s Day from Bokamoso Education Trust children

On 12 May 2019, South Africa celebrated special women in their lives who support and nurture them – moms, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and even mentors.

While every son or daughter will have their own reasons why they consider their mom to be a superhero. Here’s what some of the Bokamoso Education Trust children had to say about their mothers:

Thami Sibanda, to his mom, Nosisa:

I love my mother because she is my role model. She works hard and takes care of me and my brothers. She wakes up early every day and makes sure I eat before going to school. She always packs a healthy lunch for me. She is always full of love and laughter. She can be very funny sometimes.

Maria, to her mom Simi:

My mother means everything to me, yes she always shouts at me when I am naughty and she always tells me how important education is, that if I work very hard I will pass. Thank you mom for your love and your care. Thank you for everything you have done for me mother. I love you very much.

Bongani to his mom:

My mom is the root to my achievements and the reason why I am here. Thanks to her to cooking and warm hands I’m still here. Thank you mom.

Caitlin, to her mom Michele:

My mom is the best in my world. When I am sad, she always knows hoe to cheer me up. My mom means whole world to me.

Nkosinathi, about her mom, Connstance:

My mom is the kindest most sweetest woman I know. She is always there for me and my sister Emily during tough times. She comforts us when we are afraid. She is our light in darkness. She always finds a way to put food on the table and have a roof over our heads. She always has love to spare even if we disrespect her, she always forgives us at the end of the day. She has a strong bold heart and never gives up on what she is doing until she finishes it. We won’t be here if it weren’t for her she’s the best mom. This is why me and my sister love her.

Lindokuhle, to mom:

I would like to thank you for everything you have done for me. You are special to me. You give me strength everyday. You are always there for me when I cry and every time I fall. You are the best mom ever.

Kelvin to his mom:

My mom is my everything to me. She cares for me and makes sure that I do all my homework and pass at school. I love her so much.

Gabi, to her mom, Zine:

My mom, a title above queen is like my buttons that holds everything together, To the world she might be just one person but to me she is the world. What’s special about her is that she’s bold, loving, strong and a women like no other. She gave me life , she held me, she shouts at me when I’m naughty, but most of all she loves me unconditionally. She is so special to me because even though she is unemployed, she makes sure I don’t go to bed with a empty stomach and have warm clothes in winter .There are just not enough words in the dictionary, google or Wikipedia to explain how special she is to me.

Mathias to his mom, Francinah.

My mom means the world to me because she shows me how important life is and how good education can impact my life in the future. I love you mommy.
