The 75th IIG Gala Dinner

The annual Insurance Institute of Gauteng gala dinner tool place on Thursday evening, 3 November. Approximately 2000 industry professionals gathered for the dinner, making it one of the largest insurance networking events on the continent. In conjunction with Purple Group, CN&CO has been one of the IIG sponsors for 2016 and welcomed the opportunity to reconnect with many of the people that make the insurance industry such an energetic and satisfying environment to work in. Outgoing IIG president Tracy Payne gave a review of the year and how the organisation has contributed to the industry, highlighting initiatives like the 24 hour charity spinathon and the IIG overseas trip. The institute goes from strength to strength each year and the IIG Class of 2016 has certainly set the bar high for the next year. After the awards ceremony and speeches the dancefloor opened, much to the delight of the guests. All in all it was another successful evening of networking, recognising excellence in the industry and bringing the IIG year to a close.

Thanks must be given to Nina Joubert and her team for organising the event, to accommodate 2000 people at an event is a herculean task and one that not many people would be able to do. Well done and all the best to the rest of the IIG for 2017!
