Spandex & spinning with the IIG

On 22 April something very special will be happening. The entire CN&CO team will be attempting to exercise together for the sake of charity. While most members of the team enjoy some form of recreational activity, we have yet to embrace the “group class” exercise concept so this will be a momentous occasion. So when we were invited to participate in the Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) 24 Hour Charity Spin-a-thon we jumped at the chance.

The IIG will host the awesome event at Higher Ground, St Stithians by providing 24 one-hour time slots, starting at 8 am on Friday 22 April. Each slot will see a group of 50 riders sit on stationary bikes and “spin” to the best of their ability. While no guarantee of fitness is required, as long as the wheels are turning the charities will be earning. Groups can book their time slots by contacting Nina Joubert from the IIG and providing proof of payment to their intended charity, with each time slot earning R22 500 for a charitable cause.

Several of our friends will be riding on the day including Lombard Partnerships and Purple Group while CN&CO will take the midnight vibe starting at 00:00 until 01:00 as the “silent cycle” slots kick in. All riders in a silent cycle slot will receive wireless headphones to continue listening to the pumping music. Our charity of choice is the fabulous Pink Drive as we help boost Carel’s Comrades fundraiser. We will be sending out team invitations soon but if you want to jump the queue and be involved in the midnight vibe drop us a message and we will make it happen.
